Post up your questions about standard Pistols here.

Pistols do not require or a chronograph test-fire with the exception of CO2 and/or full-auto pistols.
  • Minimum Engagement Distance: 0 feet
Non-blowback and full-auto only require chrono testing.
    CHRONO (with .25 bbs): < 366 fps / 1.55 joules
Semi auto gas pistols do not require a chrono test but are expected to comply with these specs.

What if we chrono CO2 pistols? Could we use them?

Is this pertaining to kjw and elite force co2 pistols, or just those 500fps target guns?

The 500 fps CO2 pistols (I chrono'ed 2 pistols this past Sunday at our local field that ran in excess of 450 fps).

The KJW and Elite Force are not an issue but we are trying to figure this out and make it an easy to interpret rule.

I will edit the original post. We are going to allow CO2 at Irene this year subject to passing chrono.

What we did at last year's Lightning strike and all the LC events I have been to since was crono any Co2 and green gas / propane got a pass.

That is what we will do for Irene as well. With the addition of full-auto pistols.

Thank you for the reconsideration. This was quite a scare for a second.

Op Irene XII will be my first OPLC event and so I am somewhat confused about this entire post in relation to the OPI XII Rule Set, Weaponry, Q:-

"Any un-tagged guns found in the game are grounds for immediate disciplinary action."

Perhaps a noob thing to say, but to my understanding any guns of any kind require chrono to get the tag. Please advise.

I would add, for the co2 pistols, the co2 cartridge must be inserted in the mag prior to chronoing, so that the chrono tech can see that it is a free cartridge and not a half empty or low, though this would usually not effect the FPS.

Alan3 - GBB pistols (requiring green-gas) are exempt from the chrono process. But as the rules say - they are expected to comply with the standards. So spot checks with a chrono will be performed. However - pistols will not receive a spot check for a tag.

This is not confusing to the Field Judges and is standard for all OLC events.

Copy. That cleared the confusion up for me as well.

Thanks, Pope.

Are there magazine size limits for pistols?

It gives the G17/18 crew a significant advantage over other pistol sidearms when they can field 50+ rd mags to the standard 15-20
