SAW Class

Post up your questions about standard AEG Squad Automatic Weapons here.

All weapons must pass inspection and a chronograph test-fire.
  • Minimum Engagement Distance: 20 feet
    CHRONO (with .25 bbs): < 400 fps / 1.85 joules
    SAWS (even if Semi-automatic capable) may not be used indoors
    SAWs may use electric or manual winding magazines (box, c-mag, etc… – no conventional hi-caps) with no restrictions on ammunition capacity.
    Faithful recreations of belt-fed guns including (but not limited to) the M60, M249, MG42, RPD, Shrike < must have Proper front>, M240B; as non-belt-fed guns such as RPK, MG36, L86A2 LSW are allowed. All Support must be able to IDed as support.
    Custom guns must receive approval prior to the event. No walk-ups will be approved.

What about a properly-outfitted (long barrel, bipod, etc) MG36? I ask because it can sometimes be difficult to distinguish the different G36 variants, so some places do not allow a support-classified version.

Edit: Nevermind. I had the thought to check the ruleset for Lion Claws and see that it's on the approved list. Disregard. :)

Have a buddy that runs G36s, I ought to have him build one of his spares into an MG variant for me. I don't think I've ever seen one in theatre so to speak.
